The documents in cooperation between Spain and Latín American countries collected by the SCI database in period 1980-1990 are covered. A growing collaboration is observed. The following bibliometric indicators are studied: numbers of authors signing the papers, document type, language, country of publication of the journals used. subject of the papers. The participation of the different countries and their most active institutions are studied.
