Mujeres científicas en España: un estudio comparativo de los últimos 30 años

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo principal analizar la evolución de la paridad de género en la ciencia española (1990-2021), haciendo un análisis por áreas de conocimiento y comparando el caso español internacionalmente, con aquellos países que lideran el Human Development Index. Utilizando datos de Dimensions y de las Naciones Unidas, el algoritmo de asignación de género WikiGenDex y diferentes técnicas de visualización de datos y estadísticas, encontramos que la situación de las mujeres investigadoras en España varía por área (alcanzando la paridad en áreas como Biomedicina y Ciencias de la Salud y estando lejos de ella en Matemáticas e Informática). Al comparar España internacionalmente encontramos que el porcentaje de mujeres investigadoras en este país es mayor a la media mundial, aunque el crecimiento de dicho porcentaje es similar al del resto de países estudiados. El artículo busca los motivos de los resultados en la especificidad del sistema científico español y se cuestiona el uso de la paridad de género como indicador único sobre la situación de la mujer en la ciencia.
