This article resumes a methodology for the Internet information impact assessment by using the Altavista indexation and recuperation capabilities. The context is used to describe the HTLM metaelements function as an arrangement and ordering information system. The method limitations and reliability are discussed and some data that show the production of WWW pages are exposed at institutional and national levels and compared to other European countries. The article emphasizes the possibility to measure the impact of these pages depending on the amount of times that they are linked from external pages, similarly to the way in which the Institute for Scientific Information Citation Index works.
