Research methods used in the articles, which have been published in the Revista Española de Documentación Científica (REDC) from 1989 to 1999 are analyzed. This analysis discusses the following points: research topics, methodology, population and sampling, design (grade of experimentation, time, and objectives), research strategies, techniques of obtaining data and analysis of data. The most important conclusion is: Library and Information Science is situated on earlier state or pre-scientific. However it is important to point that many of articles studied came from other disciplines although they use the bibliometric analysis as research echnique.
