This study provides statistics that show the evolution of Spanish teledocumentation centres in the period 1985-1990. The statistics are based on questionnaires meant to perform the «Directory of Centres of Access to databases», which is at present a database (DIRCE) searchable on line from the Instituto de Estadística of Catalunya. The centers are classified by: accessibility; type of institution; starting date of the service; autonomous communities; subject arcas; number of contracts with Spanish or foreign contractors; stafT number and readers/suscriptions to CD-ROM databases.
