Academic libraries offer research support services. This study examines the different types of specialized research services offered by universities around the world. The main objective is to provide a framework for offering research library services. The phases and processes of scholarly communication are described to determine the skills that must be acquired to support research. The skills in research required for specialized services are listed. The methodology analyzes and synthesizes the modalities of service offering. The types of services are classified into four groups: training, information, provision, and support. A catalog of specialized research library services is given, detailing the purpose and contents of each service.
