Abstract

The aim of DOCUCRIT is to produce an on-line bibliographical database on intercultural mediation and translation/interpretation in public services, an emergent field under construction for whose development it is appropriate to disseminate information. Both fields, intercultural mediation and translation/interpretation in public services, arise due to the communicative needs, interlinguistic and intercultural, in societies which, like ours, are becoming increasingly multicultural. In our social framework the incorporation of citizens from diverse countries, with diverse cultures and languages, is an ever more evident daily reality. Those involved in this line of research, which is deeply interdisciplinary and open-ended, will find in DOCUCRIT an essential library of references.
