Valuation of the collection of the medical trade union library in Uruguay.

Se establece un procedimiento para tasar la colección bibliográfica de una biblioteca médica, a los efectos de cumplir con los balances contables requeridos por los auditores de la institución. La literatura especializada en las ciencias de la información no presenta trabajos similares, ni existe un mercado librero activo en la compra-venta de este tipo de colecciones, por lo que los resultados finales se enmarcan en distintos tipos de criterios que se enuncian, los que tienen un gran rango de variación. El objeto principal del trabajo es mostrar que la colección de una biblioteca no es un gasto, sino que es un patrimonio y su valor puede estimarse.
