The demand of journals from the Science and Technology Library of CINDOC through the Document Supply Service is studied. Distribution by fields, country of publishers and age are compared between Spanish and foreign journals. Users are analysed according to their institutional sector. The results show that the most demanded fields are Chemistry, Biology and Chemical Engineering and Technology. Most requests concentrate in journals published in USA, UK, Germany and Spain. Half of the requests correspond to the present decade, although the demand of documents over 25 years old is still important. The highest percentage of users are from Universities followed by centres of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and Industry.
