It is concludcd that thc literature puhlished on standardisation and its cffccts on information transfcr is vcry extensivo when cornparcd to literaturc dcdicated to the cvaluation of its use in general and its application to scienti fic periodicals. The intcrcst of studic s on standards compliance for the improvement hoth of the standardisation of scientific journals and the quality of thc standards which govern them is pointcd out.
