This paper aims to identify and analyze the production of academic books in 16 Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America between 2013 and 2019. It draws from the ISBN databases that the national book agencies provide to Cerlalc. The academic sector is characterized by countries and subjects. The participation of production from Mexico, Argentina and Colombia stands out, in addition to the preponderance of the Sociology, Law and Education as subjects in which the most is published.. Subsequently, the production of academic books in the 16 countries during this period is characterized according to format, commercial offer, number of pages, print run, and whether they are translations. Finally, the findings are discussed and some issues that can illuminate future research are presented.
