Resumen


La competitividad y desarrollo tecnológico de una región se miden por el grado de innovación en el que se soportan, siendo un elemento valorativo la cantidad y calidad de patentes que generan y aplican en su dinámica productiva. En tal sentido, las universidades cumplen un rol generador y transmisor del conocimiento. Por lo que es importante identificar sus niveles de colaboración y tendencias en líneas de aplicación tecnológica, a fin de establecer futuras políticas de desarrollo en este sector. En el presente artículo se identifica el grado de colaboración, los tipos de patentes, los actores (principales y secundarios) y la dinámica de producción de patentes de las universidades de la CAN en el periodo 2005-2015, publicadas en la base de datos de la Oficina Europea de Patentes. Se concluye que existe una gran disparidad, por lo que es necesario fortalecer el nivel colaborativo entre las universidades de esta comunidad. A pesar de ello, se aprecia un incremento en la producción de patentes.
