Abstract

This contribution presents the results of an investigation into the documentary heritage related to Emanuele Artom, a prominent figure in italian anti-fascist resistance, through the census of resources preserved in Italian institutions and digital repositories. This research fits within the context of the digitization project of the University of Turin's library and aims to outline new models of university libraries in line with the Third mission of the university. In particular, the role of author collections as a central resource for the enhancement of cultural heritage is explored, and the importance of adopting conceptual models and technologies such as Linked Open Data (LOD) for managing and enriching metadata is discussed. Finally, a joint research line between the University of Turin and the Carlos III University of Madrid is presented, focusing on the valorization of personal collections in academic libraries through the implementation of innovative practices of data integration and effective narratives based on historical context.
