Despite being a relatively recent phenomenon, e-books have been subject to various changes: in technology, in the development of reading devices, and in various scientific and commercial practices. All these changes ranging from the purely terminological to the technical and conceptual are reflected in the scientific collections of different databases. Therefore, a diachronic analysis of this production will permit detection of the transformations produced, as well as the contextualization of this phenomenon from a scientific, social and cultural point of view. This leads to a combination of different tools that allow textual and bibliometric analysis and that produce results that can be extrapolated to similar studies.
